The collision occurred on the Sikandra-Sheikhpura National Highway-333 near Pipra village, under the jurisdiction of Halsi Police Station.
The victims were on their way back to Jamui from Patna, having attended the funeral of a relative.
Their journey took a devastating turn when their vehicle struck a truck carrying empty LPG cylinders.
The impact was fatal for six passengers, including the driver, who perished at the scene.
The injured were immediately taken to Jamui's Sadar Hospital in a critical state.
Among the deceased were Laljit Singh, his two sons Amit Shekhar (also known as Nemani Singh) and Ram Chandra Singh, his daughter Baby Devi, his niece Anita Devi, and the driver, Preetam Kumar.
